Deep Work

The Seiler Piano used in the recording

I read a book written by Cal Newport about working deeply. Since I read it I have probably only become mildly more productive, and I probably don’t follow the rules set up by the book, but it was a fantastic read and made me think about working in general. The process. There’s a momentum you have to reach – you have to keep going. I sat down at the Piano a while after reading that book, and had that feeling of uninterrupted momentum, and then I made this tiny piece.

It is supposed to give you the feeling of working, which can be boring, or tiresome, but when you are working deeply it is nice – you sit there with a cup of coffee and realize that there is beauty along the way, and in the end, it is just so spectacular to be finished with something.
